Romsey was long famous as the home of Strong's Brewery. It was also well-known in the region for the large number of pubs and inns in the town during the late 19th century and well into the 20th century. This book lists them and provides notes about each including anecdotes and comments on the families who ran them. The brewing history of the town is briefly touched on in an introduction that puts the presence of these businesses into context.
